George was not a freshman at helping. He was the current Vice-President of Guyana Watch (a humanitarian group), serving for almost two decades, and supplemented with hundreds of thousands of dollars, his personal funds, for the well being of others in his former homeland.

Travelling to Guyana as a team for the first time in March, 2008, Dr. Jindal met with the patient; as George, Lake Persaud and Jas Persaud organized and met with several public officials: the goal – to have the never-before- done-surgery, right in Guyana!

But introducing complicated kidney transplant surgery to land with limited resources, skills and facilities would take months… and Munesh had just a few.

Working side by side, as one working kidney was removed from a mother, and placed in her son, the medical team declared the procedure a success, just after 2pm, July 8.

Munesh was the fist recipient of a living donor transplant in Guyana.

More importantly, Dr. Jindal and George Subraj and their respective teams had in effect opened the door for additional kidney transplantation on that July day, a mere five months after receiving the flyer.

George Subraj Foundation, even after his passing, continue to actively assist many other chronic kidney patients, while simultaneously expanding their humanitarian credentials in other areas of health and education.
